The level of restriction esports athletes face on professional competitive stages aren’t common knowledge. For competitive integrity, stage PC’s aren’t connected to the internet and additional settings customization software, like G HUB, isn’t allowed. This is why all PRO Series gear has on-board memory, to store settings onto the device. However, if the saved profile needs adjustments or an athlete wants to check the settings or fine-tune between matches – they’re out of luck.

Understanding this pain-point, we set out to create our most competitive advantage feature-rich keyboard with PRO X2 RAPID. We dialed up the craftsmanship, improved the customization, and included an on-board display so athletes can trust their perfectly dialed keyboard can respond to any scenario.

In workshop meetings, designers kept hearing about this friction of having customizable settings that can never be adjusted just before the highest stakes moments. Logitech G engineers explored elegant solutions to integrate the software solution onto the hardware. The solution would need to account for the range of features PRO X2 RAPID would include – Rapid Trigger, Key Priority (SOCD), KEYCONTROL, LIGHTSYNC – without sacrificing performance.

The on-board OLED display was a simple and elegant solution to swap through profiles, adjust actuation and rapid trigger reset points, tune lighting profiles and more. It doesn’t require a network connection, nor does it require compute power from the PC’s. It unified the litany of ways PRO X2 RAPID could be customized, and made it available directly on the keyboard.

Design specifications and material choices were directly informed by meetings with almost 100 esports athletes, over more than a year of development from April 2025 to May 2026.

Every inch, every angle, every press of this keyboard was crafted to inspire confidence in its quality. Custom factory-lubed KS-20 POM switches were an early favorite in blind testing for switch architectures and lubrication level preferences. The six-layer noise dampening acoustic stack was meticulously thought-out for the most satisfying and grounding experience.

Patent-pending dual screw-in stabilizers were devised to prevent wobble in long keys, a noticeable favorite touch among players. A stable 8kHz scan and report rate ensured the keyboard was tournament-ready. It certainly handled like it was.
